Top 5 Travel and Local Apps Performance in Latin America, Q2 2024

During the second quarter of 2024, the top travel and local apps in Latin America showed varied performance trends across downloads and active users. Here's a closer look at the weekly metrics for Airbnb, SUBE, Booking.com: Hotels & Travel, Despegar: vuelos y hoteles, and Google Earth.

Airbnb exhibited a steady increase in weekly downloads, reaching approximately 365K by the last week of June, up from around 261K at the beginning of April. Active users also saw a rise, peaking at roughly 2.7M by the end of the quarter.

SUBE experienced fluctuating download numbers, starting at about 260K and decreasing to around 105K by the end of Q2. Active user numbers showed a downward trend, ending the quarter at approximately 355K.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel consistently increased its weekly downloads, reaching around 174K by the end of June. Active users also saw a steady rise, peaking at approximately 4.5M in early June before stabilizing around 4.3M towards the end of the quarter.

Despegar: vuelos y hoteles showed a notable spike in downloads, especially in late May with a peak of about 216K. Active users increased gradually, peaking at approximately 1.75M in the last week of May before settling at around 1.54M by the end of June.

Google Earth saw significant growth in weekly downloads, reaching approximately 209K in early June before stabilizing around 133K by the end of the quarter. Active users peaked at about 1.1M in mid-June, ending the quarter at roughly 980K.
